One Healthy Life, One Click Away
AAHP Launches New Website

The African American Health Program of Montgomery County, Maryland proudly announces the launch of our new website at www.onehealthylife.org. This site provides a gateway for health care providers, referral agencies, and individual citizens to learn about AAHP programs, to share information about community health resources, and to access information about health concerns affecting the African American community.

The site focuses on the AAHP's six main areas of service, including Cancer, Cardiovascular Health, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, Infant Mortality, and Oral Health. The theme of the site-One Healthy Life-uses life stories as a way to connect visitors to what they may be experiencing and the issues they may be facing. Users can navigate by topic to learn medical facts and to receive tips for disease prevention and management. Each topic area also includes additional resources (both local and national) for further referral.

The mission of the AAHP is to eliminate health disparities and improve the number and quality of years of life for African Americans in Montgomery County. This new website will provide another effective tool toward this effort. It will become a virtual gathering place where county health departments share information, referral agencies identify resources, and where the citizens of Montgomery County connect to information and hope.
